The vice president of the United States refuses to classify Israeli actions, but breaks the usual tone of his political field. “I have seen people on my political side who look at these videos of innocent Palestinian children and say, ‘Well, they deserved it.’ No, no, no. ” Ensures that Trump is committed to finishing the conflict and ensuring humanitarian aid
United States Vice President Jd Vance rejected the accusation that Israel is carrying a genocide in Gaza, but lamented the lack of humanity that, according to him, is felt in certain sectors of his own political field-unable to recognize the real suffering of Palestinians who live in the end of the war.
“I see these videos, I see the photographs, and leave my heart,” Vance confesses, in an interview with the humorist Theo Von.
“What we are trying to do here is solve two problems,” continues the vice president. “On the one hand, there are innocent Palestinians-as well as innocent Israeli hostages, by the way-who are caught in this terrible violence that takes place at this time. We are trying to get as much help as possible to people. On the other hand, Israel was attacked by a brutal terrorist organization. People sometimes forget that it all started with this attack, a barbaric terrorist, where many civis wasraelites were Dead, ”says Vance.
The US administration, says Trump’s deputy, is committed to finding a peaceful resolution: “We want to secure Israel that Hamas will never attack them or kill civilians again. And at the same time, we need to get as much help as possible to Palestinians, because they are also bound in this conflict.”
Vance chooses not to mention any political solution to the broader conflict between Israel and Palestine. But he makes a point of pointing out what he considers to be moral impoverishment in the debate.
“There is something that costs me a lot in this whole debate about Israel and Palestine: I think we degraded as human beings,” he laments. “I see people, especially on the left, who completely ignore that so many innocent Israelites have been murdered in that terrorist attack. And I see people, usually on the right, who do the same in relation to children caught in the midst of this violence.”
During the interview, Theo Von argues that what is happening in Gaza is a “genocide” and accuses the United States of “complicity” because they continue to send weaponry to Israel. Vance responds with some delicacy. “The reason why I don’t think it’s a genocide is simple: I don’t believe the Israelites are deliberately trying to enter Gaza to murder all Palestinians.” And justifies the invasion: “I think they have been brutally attacked, and now they are trying to destroy this terrorist organization. And war is hell.”
But it makes it clear that it also moves away from your right -wing voices that seem to dehumanize the Palestinian victims. “I have seen people on my political side who look at these videos of innocent Palestinian children and say, ‘Well, they deserved it.’ No, no, if you have soul, your heart should break when you see a child to suffer.
