What is PERZ and why should it be removed?
Proper (ELYMUS Repens) also called a common feature or dog grass is a plant of weed species. In Poland, it occurs very often and can be difficult to remove. Pierz has a strong and rapidly growing root system. Often, so that the flower or lawn is completely digging the soil. The peer reproduces through the underground runway, which is why it is so important to completely eliminate underground shoots. Perz, like all other weeds, is an invasive species and takes space, water, as well as nutrients to other plants. Pier can completely eliminate the grass from the lawn. Interestingly, PERZ has many health -promoting properties. It is used in urinary tract diseases, as well as acne -supporting treatment.
How to recognize a perz in the garden?
For incorrect gardeners, the diagnosis of the circle can be a bit difficult. It resembles blades of grass, but they are slightly wider and grow faster. It’s easy to see after mowing. Perz will grow much faster than normal grass. The edges are rough and can hurt their hands. They form alternately and reach a width of up to 15 mm. A characteristic feature of the curls are high blades ended with ears of flowers about 10 cm long.

To minimize the risk, it is worth using preventive treatments. These are, among others, spraying with herbicides, which should be used before sowing grass. Herbicides penetrate the ground and inhibit the growth of shoots and roots. In the event that Perz has already appeared, apply mechanical removal combined with natural spraying. A great, ecological spraying for a perz is a combination of vinegar, water and table salt. Mix two glasses of vinegar with one glass water and add a small amount of salt. It is important to maintain the right proportions. Add 1 part of water on 2 parts of vinegar. Sprayed so prepared. Do it on rainless days. Vinegar connected to salt will dry and it will be easy to remove. However, remember to avoid spraying with vinegar to other plants. Try to be precise. Salt and vinegar spraying can also be used for others and moss.
