The mayor of Cruzeiro do Sul, Zequinha Lima, announced this Sunday, June 8, through his social networks, the death of his father, Mr. João Nogueira de Lima, at the age of 85. The news moved the local community, especially after the manager has already made public the delicate health situation of his father, recently diagnosed with aggressive cancer.

Days earlier, Zequinha had reported that João Queiroz had been admitted to the Cancer Hospital in Rio Branco after a sudden change in his health. “My father, who has always been a very active person and had been practicing Pilates for over four years, had a drastic change in his health. In less than three days, he went from an independent life to a hospital bed,” said the mayor at the time.
Even in the face of severe diagnosis, the family maintained hope with the beginning of therapy and programmed treatment sessions. Zequinha also highlighted how much his father has always been an inspiration in his life: “He who knows me knows how much my father is a reference to me, an honorable man, hardworking and full of faith.”
In the death note published on Sunday, the family looked with the care of João Queiroz, born October 12, 1938. He was a farmer for a lifetime, a husband dedicated to his wife Cleonice de Souza Rodrigues and a loving father of seven children. Practicing Catholic, left the values of faith, work and honesty as legacy.
“He was a simple and honorable man who fought with dignity to raise his children. He leaves faith, work and example of a life marked by honesty and love for the family,” said the statement.
Mayor Zequinha Lima and his family members thanked for the demonstrations of affection, prayers and gestures of solidarity received at this time of pain. Information about the wake and burial will be released later.
