The government gives its “full confidence” to the prosecutor and “flatly” denies that he instructed him to filter data from Ayuso’s boyfriend
The Minister of Justice, Félix Bolaños, has reiterated the “full trust” in the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, despite the abbreviated procedure order issued by the judge of Supreme Angel Hurtado by revelation of secrets in relation to the case of fiscal fraud of Isabel Díaz Ayuso’s boyfriend. He recalled that it is resorted to the car, “is not firm” and has also denied “resounding and categorically” that the presidency of the Government instructed the prosecutor to filter data of the case, as Judge Hurtado states without evidence. “I’m sorry that the Supreme Court makes this state such a serious condition without any probative basis, because that never happened.” He has also said that it is sustainable that the prosecutor remains in his position after the car because the judge’s decision is not firm and there is the presumption of innocence.
Bolaños explained that he has known the news when he attended, as the Attorney General, to an act at the headquarters of the General Council of the Judiciary. “I have not yet been able to read the car and, therefore, I will not be able to assess it in detail, although I tell you that this car is not firm, it is possible to recourse, there is an appeal and, therefore, we will be to the guarantee system, to the system of resources that our country has. Without a doubt, in the end, the truth will prevail.”
On whether García Ortiz should resign, Bolaños has defended his continuity: “It is perfectly sustainable in a rule of law, with a presumption of innocence, with a car that is what we know today, which is not firm, that at least our absolute and full confidence in the State Attorney General and in the Prosecutor’s Office can be in their whole when they face alleged criminals already fraud.”
As for whether the prosecutor would have received government indications to use the information on the alleged fiscal crime of Alberto González Amador against Isabel Díaz Ayuso, Bolaños has categorically denied it. “I have not read the car but I have read news where reference is made to that part of the car where it is said that there were possible instructions from the presidency of the Government of the State Attorney General. I want to deny and categorically refuse this. This never happened and regret very much that the Supreme Court makes such a serious statement without any probative basis because this never happened.”
The Government will not request, therefore, the cessation of the State Attorney General once the processing order is confirmed. “In no case. Our confidence in the State Attorney General is absolute,” Bolaños has settled.
