“Since 2024, it has stated that it accepts the spread of pornographic content. Therefore, it must be treated in this way,” Clary Chappazova, a Digital Technology Minister, told Politico.
Stricter rules for pages
From June 7, all pornographic sites in France must introduce measures to verify the age of the submitted credit card or ID card. Some websites against this step protest and claim that it may endanger the personal data of users.
In case of failure to comply with these requirements, the site may be fined, removed from Internet search engines or completely blocked.
Politico recalls that X may decide to completely block pornographic content on its platform, thus avoiding the mandatory verification regulation.
