Cauliflower plays the main role in this simple casserole – a delicious, very healthy vegetable, which after proper thermal treatment melts in the mouth. When we add to this, among others Cheddar cheese, an insanely delicious option is created, melting in the mouth.
- 1 cauliflower,
- 100 g of green canned peas,
- 1 tomato,
- 350 ml of milk,
- 200 g tartego sera cheddar,
- 100 g of breadcrumbs,
- 6 tablespoons of butter,
- 3 tablespoons of wheat flour,
- ½ teaspoon salt,
- ¼ teaspoon of black pepper.
Clean the cauliflower and divide into smaller roses. Cook them steamed until al dente for about 7 minutes. Set aside
Strain the peas and cut the tomato into smaller pieces, pressing excess juice.
In a medium saucepan, dissolve 4 tablespoons of butter on low heat. Add peas and fry it for 1-2 minutes. Add flour and mix until combined. Fry for the next 2 minutes.
Gradually pour in milk and cook until the whole thickens. Add half grated cheese, salt and pepper. Mix until dissolved.
Mix the cauliflower roses with tomato and cheese sauce.
Transfer the mass into an ovenproof dish smeared with fat.
Heat the other two tablespoons of butter in a frying pan. Add breadcrumbs and fry the whole until nice browning.
Sprinkle the cauliflower with a roll, and then the whole with the remaining grated cheese.
Put the casserole in the oven preheated to 175 degrees Celsius for 25-30 minutesfor nice browning of the top.
Serve the baked cauliflower, immediately after preparation. Store the remains in the fridge, covered. Consume within 2 days.
