The governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (Union), said on Monday (9) argue that ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) have mandates to remain in office.
Currently, magistrates are appointed by the President of the Republic and can continue in the court up to 75, when they need to retire compulsorily.
“About the Supreme’s performance, I argue, it is a position of my personal, and I already had the opportunity to expose this as Senator of the Republic, the mandate,” said Caiado during a participation in TV Cultura’s “Roda Viva” program.
“I think this gives the supreme profile that can know that the person has the beginning and end of the mandate. The condition of interim until the age of 75, this causes a situation not only of accommodation, but at the same time, of expansion of powers and prerogatives,” he adds.
For him, the time limitation in office would be the most “adequate” for the moment of Brazil.
Amnesty defense
The discussion about the role of the Supreme Court came after the Goian Governor defended, as the first measure if he becomes president, the “broad, general and unrestricted amnesty”. Caiado was asked if this would not go against the decision of the Supreme Court that already for involvement

“Supreme decision is not sovereign,” said Caiado. “The Brazilian Constitution gives the president this prerogative,” added the Goian governor.
He was asked if the measure would be restricted to those involved in undemocratic acts or would include convicted in new processes that are processed today,
“[Concederia] all. Broad, general and unrestricted amnesty, as we grant, already. This is no innovation. This has existed and has already been implemented in Brazil, “replied Caiado.
