The President () receives on Tuesday (10) the Minister of Finance, to discuss the details of the reduction of the rates of the decree that raised the IOF (Tax on Financial Operations).
The meeting was scheduled since Sunday (8), when Haddad discussed measures with the presidents of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), and Senate, David Alcolumbre (Brazil-AP Union), as well as leaders of the governing base in both homes.
It was agreed that the details of the measures would be treated with the president on Tuesday. The package negotiated by the minister initially foresees measures only by the expansion of the revenue. Negotiation on structural costs of expenses will only be done in a second moment.
The meeting is being held at the Alvorada Palace, the president’s official residence, after the return of his trip from France on Monday night (9).
Also present are ministers Sidônio Palmeira (Secom) and Gleisi Hoffmann (Institutional Relations), as well as leaders at the Randolfe Rodrigues Congress (PT-AP) and José Guimarães (PT-CE).
