The Acrean capital enters the Route of National Alternative Music with the arrival of the Pernambuco Band Mombojó, one of the attractions confirmed at the Casarão 2025 festival, which celebrates 25 years of history with a simultaneous edition in seven Brazilian capitals, including Rio Branco. The event takes place at Corpus Christi’s holiday in June, and promises to move the local cultural scene with shows, workshops and special programming.
Formed in the early 2000s, in Recife (PE), Mombojó is one of the most representative names of the Recife independent scene, with a sound that moves between alternative rock, pop, electronic music and northeastern rhythms such as Maracatu and Frevo. Poetic letters, creative arrangements and a unique musical identity mark the group’s trajectory.

The group has also divided stage and projects with icons such as Chico Science & Nation Zumbi, Mundo Livre S/A and, in 2015, received a surprise participation from French Manu Chao during the Recife Festival in Recife and was already part of major national festivals such as Lollapalooza.
In addition to the show, the audience of Rio Branco will be able to experience Casarão Music Week, an extension of the festival with formative activities, artistic meetings and celebrations of independent culture. The presence of Mombojó marks an important moment in programming, by connecting generations with a sound that is both experimental and popular.
