The federal deputy and former director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), said on Monday (9) in a statement to the Supreme Court (STF) that the Federal Police (PF) used the wrong report during investigations to associate the Israeli system Firstmile with the alleged coup plan in the country.
“We ended First Mile ME May 10, 2021. We know that any monitoring of people in the investigation here today is 2022, it is another induction of the court error, because the Federal Police know that First Mile’s contract was closed in 2021 and has not been replaced,” Ramage said during a hearing.
“Even so, the PF put the system in the report. This to unduly push this scam to me,” he continued.
According to the PF investigation, the Israeli geolocation system Firstmile would have been used to spy on opponents of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), journalists and even Supreme Court (STF) ministers, with greater intensity in 2021, shortly before pre-campaign electoral.
In 2023, a PF operation arrested two ABIN servers and dismissed another five on suspicion of illegal mobile phones between December 2018 and 2021.
