A mega operation from Tuesday morning (10) in the Israel Complex, northern Rio de Janeiro, resulted in intense clashes and impacted the city’s routine. The main expressways of the region, the Red Line, were closed, and at least two people were injured. WRiminosa of the Cidade Alta community, in retaliation of police action, began to shot indiscriminately at the population that was transit by the roads. Two bus passengers were shot in distinct vehicles: one was driving through the Red Line, and the other by Avenida Brasil.
Images that circulate on social networks show panic within one of the collectives, with passengers lying on the floor to protect themselves from the shots. The operation aims to comply with 70 arrest warrants against traffickers of the Fault Third Command Pure (TCP), which operates in the region. The group is led by Álvaro Malaquias, the “Peixão”, one of the most sought after criminals in the state.
This is not the first time traffickers in the region react with civil attacks. The previous year, a similar action resulted in six shot people with two deaths. Due to violence, about 50 bus lines had their itineraries changed, and more than 20 health and education units in the region were affected to ensure the safety of employees and the population.
