STF: Bolsonaro Defense asks for permission to display videos in testimony

Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL )’s defense asked the Supreme Court (STF) permission to display videos during his interrogation in the criminal action that investigates a supposed coup attempt to keep him in power. The request was made through his lawyers and filed on Tuesday (10).

The request will be reviewed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the inquiry in the Supreme Court.

The defense argues that the videos are in public interest and that the disclosure would help to ensure the transparency of the process.

The former president said when he arrived for this Tuesday he intends to talk for hours.

“If I can feel comfortable, get ready, it will be hours,” he said.

The ongoing investigation investigates the possible participation of Bolsonaro and allies in the elaboration of a plan to invalidate the result of the 2022 presidential elections, won by Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).

Bolsonaro has already given testimony to the PF on more than one occasion under this inquiry. In recent interviews, the former president has reiterated who denies any involvement in undemocratic acts.
