Commentators Caio Coppolla and José Eduardo Cardozo discussed, this Monday (9), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11pm), if the testimony of the former Jair Bolsonaro (PL) order of orders, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, in the Supreme Court (STF) changes Bolsonaro’s situation.
Cid was questioned in the process that investigates an attempt to coup after the 2022 elections.
Coppolla understands that Cid’s testimony is not worth incriminating Bolsonaro.
“Nothing changes nothing because he only confirmed his latest version of the facts, the latest version of the facts. We know there were several changes in Mauro Cid’s testimony, including Minister Luiz Fux drew attention to this fact,” he said.
“What also draws attention is his inability, the Federal Police and the Public Prosecution Service to present evidence that corroborates what was said in testimony. There is nothing to imply Bolsonaro personally in the crimes he is accused,” he continued.
Already Cardozo argues that Cid’s speech compromises Bolsonaro.
“A denunciation alone is not to condemn, it is a fact, but it requires corroboration evidence. And what reads from the PF report and also the prosecutor’s allegation is that all that Cid said was absolutely corroborated in the probationary level,” he said.
“Tell me which allegations were definitive, there were no added in all operations, including Lava Jato. I make the denunciation, as the police discover new things I call the whistleblower again, the guy is confronted with reality and is afraid of losing the award of the report,” he said.
