On the first visit, in 60 years, from a BCL president to a UnionGabriel Galipolo heard unionists

On the first visit, in 60 years, of a president of the to a workers’ union, the current central banker, he heard from trade unionists request that the municipality create a council formed by workers, entrepreneurs and gym to hear the impressions of civil society in relation to the economy. The claim was vocalized by the president of the ABC Metalworkers Union, Moses Selerges, the idea, according to Moses, is that the BC, along the lines of the Focus and Firnus bulletins, create another to listen to workers and the academy. Focus, as is well known, collects the expectations of financial market analysts – and Firnus, entrepreneurs.

“We do not want a deliberative council, this is not that. But a council that listens to workers as the financial market and entrepreneurs are heard. If one of the BC’s attributions is to secure the job, it is good to listen to workers,” said the unionist. According to Moses, the leaders of the 17 unions present to the event asked the Galipolo to lower the interest rate that, so high, is waging investment projects and preventing more job openings from being opened, and also the credit.

“Galipolo has very didactically the mission of the BC, which is to bring inflation to the center of the goal, and we understand that. But we also want to be heard. He was very receptive and is the first president of the BC, in 60 years, to come to a worker union to hear what we have to say,” said the unionist, showing very pleased with the attitude of the central banker. The coming of Galipole to the ABC Metalworkers Union was sewn in March, when Moses went to the BC headquarters in Brasilia to bring a document resulting from a manifesto of workers at the entity. The visit, according to Moses, would have departed from the Galipole himself. “He seems to me very sensitive to the demands of the working class,” he said.

Unionists put their view to Galipolo as they consider some economic staff schedules, such as the exemption of income taxation up to $ 5,000 per month. For them, the money that the IRS stops giving salaries up to R $ 5,000 will be directed to consumption, to change an appliance, such as refrigerator, washing machine, stove, for example, which will result in more employment and growth.
