After completing the interrogations of the main investigated in the proceedings on the attempted coup d’état, Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) decided to suspend the precautionary measure that prevented contact between the defendants linked to the so -called core 1 of the investigation.
The decision was made based on the closure of the procedural instruction phase, which included the testimony of former President Jair Bolsonaro, his former vice on the 2022 plate, Walter Braga Netto, and six other central figures of the alleged scheme. With the collection of the hearings finished, Moraes assessed that the ban on communication between those involved is no longer necessary.

The testimonials occurred on two consecutive days and brought together high -ranking names from the former government, such as:
-
Jair Bolsonaro, former President of the Republic;
-
Walter Braga Netto, ex-minister and candidate for vice-president;
-
Mauro Cid, a former joint order and whistleblower;
-
Anderson Torres, former Minister of Justice and former DF Security Secretary;
-
Alexandre Ramagem, former director of ABIN;
-
Augusto Heleno, former GSI minister;
-
Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, former Minister of Defense;
-
Almir Garnier, former Navy Commander.
With finalized interrogations – a crucial stage in criminal action – the minister has now opened a five -day deadline for the defenses to have additional requirements or suggest new steps.
The case advances to the final phase, and the expectation is that the judgment that will decide to convict or acquit the accused will take place in the second half of this year. It is one of the most emblematic actions linked to investigations into undemocratic acts that marked the post-election period of 2022.
