CAC is arrested suspected of selling rifle to criminals in Bahia

A man accused of selling a rifle to a criminal group in Bahia was arrested on Tuesday (10). The sports shooter and Hunter (CAC) was the target of Operation War Deviation triggered by the Public Prosecution Service of the State of Bahia, through the Special Action Group to combat South Regional Organized Crime (Gaeco Sul), and the Federal Police.

The investigation maintains that the origin of weapons was lawful, but the suspect passed on to the head of criminal organization. “He would have sold a rifle in disagreement with legal or regulatory determination to the leader of a faction active in Porto Seguro, in the south of the state, and nearby cities,” said the MP and the PF.

Two search and seizure warrants issued by the 1st Criminal Court of Porto Seguro were fulfilled in the cities of Praia Grande and Jarinu, in São Paulo. The action also resulted in the seizure of approximately R $ 380 thousand and US $ 10,000.

According to the bodies, the purpose of the seizures is to deepen the investigations involving the seller. The case in calculation is an unfolding of the steps that resulted in the seizure of the rifle on December 3, 2024 in Porto Seguro.

The investigation will continue to investigate the participation of other eventual people and facts that are linked. If convicted of the crimes committed, the investigated will be subject to maximum penalties that, added, may exceed 12 years of imprisonment.
