An elderly couple with Alzheimer’s, missing 24 hours in Leganés, Spain, was successfully located thanks to the use of drones by the National Police Body unit.
According to the Spanish police, the couple was disoriented and eventually fainted due to the high temperatures they felt. The images captured by the drones were crucial to the rescue operation, allowing agents to quickly locate the elderly and provide the necessary help.
During the rescue, the woman was found lying in a field zone and the man inside a ditch where she had fallen. Police shared images of the moment, underlining the vital role of technology in response to emergency situations, especially in the case of vulnerable people as patients with Alzheimer’s.
