Fertilization is crucial for the development and flowering of hydrangeas. However, we do not have to buy expensive preparations to power our plants. All you have to do is reach for a product from the kitchen and based on it, prepare a conditioner for watering hydrangea. We suggest how to do it and how to use.
To enjoy the full charm of hydrangea, we must take care of them properly. Contrary to appearances, their care is not very complicated. At the beginning we must provide our plants with the right position. Hydrangeas grow best in partial shade and in soil, fertile, permeable with acidic reaction. We can add peat or compost to it to improve the structure of the substrate.
The basis is also the proper watering of plants. Hydrangeas require systematic irrigation, in particular during drought periods and in hot weather. This treatment should be performed in the morning or evening, directing the stream under the base of the bush, but avoiding pouring leaves. It is best to use protruding or rainwater for it. However, we remember to remain regular in irrigation, Because moisture fluctuations would cause stress and thus limit the number of flowers.
It is also worth taking care of mulching the soil around hydrangea. You can use natural materials such as bark or peat. Thanks to this, we will maintain the moisture of the earth and reduce the amount of weeds.

Fertilization is also important during hydrangea care. These plants need phosphorus and potassium, because both of these ingredients perfectly support the development of flower buds. However, be careful not to use preparations with a high nitrogen concentration, because instead of focusing on the development of inflorescences, the plant will begin to expand the leaves.
It is a good idea to use homemade. We will prepare an effective preparation from yeast. We will need to do it:
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- 25 fresh yeast,
- 1 liter of lukewarm water.
We start preparing the conditioner by crushing the yeast and throwing them into the dish. Then add sugar to them and add water. Leave the mixture for 2 hours, leaving it in a warm place. Once it starts to ferment, it should be diluted in a proportion of 1 cup of solution per 1 liter of water. We water the hydrangeas at the roots once every 2 weeks.. Thanks to the regular use of this solution, we will quickly notice improvement, because hydrangeas will grow lush and the number of buds will increase.
