The private foundation in charge of distributing food in Gaza denies deaths in its delivery
The Humanitarian Foundation for Gaza, the private entity in charge of the distribution of food in the strip that operates outside the United Nations, denies that incidents have occurred during the distribution of aid in its centers. The Gazatí Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas, argues that more than 160 people have died in the distributions of the foundation in the last two weeks and almost 1,500 have been injured.
Only yesterday Tuesday, 36 Gazatis died from gunfire of the Israeli army at a distribution point in the center of the enclave, according to the militia. “This incident occurred several hours before we began operating, outside our distribution center,” a spokesman for the Humanitarian Foundation for Gaza alleges in an email, who insists that the responsibility of what happens in the surroundings of the center falls to the Israeli army. “We only supervise the center and the surroundings. We have not had any incident – not injured or dead – since we start the operations,” he emphasizes.
The Foundation, which has the support of the United States and Israel, argues that it has asked the Israeli army to start measures to ensure that the passage of people who approach the centers to receive food are safer.
