Spanish authorities are looking for a missing couple who left by boat last Saturday, in Majorca, reports on Wednesday Juan Herrera, 67, and Angelita Silva de Souza, 57, departed from Port Adriano in a speedboat and were never seen again.
The couple’s son found the vessel to the drifting near the islet of Sa Dragonera, with all personal belongings on board, but without signs of the two occupants. According to the boat GPS, the speedboat was stopped for several hours in the same place.
Authorities confirm that there is no evidence of violence at a time when all hypotheses are being considered. Searches are concentrated in the zones of Calvià, Andratx and Sant Elm, with the support of air, sea and underwater media.
The family continues with hope and asks for help in locating the couple, believing that they can be in an area that is difficult to access the coast. Juan is an experienced fisherman and Angelita a good swimmer, say family members.
The authorities committed to the searches admit that an emergency may have occurred on board and that the speedboat may have been dragged by the current.
