Before buying strawberries, but also raspberries or berries, you should carefully look at these fruits, or sometimes there is no mold on them. If it occurs, all such goods are only suitable for the basket. Why?
Molder moves from one strawberry to the other. Even if we do not see it on all fruits, the seeds of mushrooms certainly already attacked them.
Moccotoxins with mutagenic and carcinogenic action produce. They cause allergic reactions and fungal infections. In addition, they can damage the kidneys and the liver. These substances are resistant to high temperatures, so they do not disappear during cooking or baking.
That is why you should not eat moldy strawberries, even if you cut off an infected fragment. Even a seemingly healthy part of the fruit may contain toxins invisible to the naked eye.
Strawberries will not moldy quickly if we store them in a flat vessel lined with a paper towel. It’s best to keep these fruits in the fridge. Let’s also remember to maintain a distance between them. Otherwise, they will start to let the juice be released.
Do not soak them in the water and do not wash them before putting them in the fridge. Let’s clean them and dry them with a paper towel only before consumption.
Sometimes it happens that we bought too much fruit and we are not able to eat them. Then it is better not to keep them in the fridge for too long. We will successfully use them in jams or compotes. Nothing prevents you from freeze strawberries.
