The Federal Police (PF) conducts, on the morning of Wednesday (11), the operation “Liberum Arca” to dismantle a theft scheme by fraud against clients of Caixa Econômica Federal or two states of the Southeast.

PF agents meet five search and seizure warrants in the municipalities of Macaé, Rio das Ostras, Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, with the support of civil police officers from the 154th Civil Police Station in Cordeiro (RJ).

The action includes searches in the houses of the investigated, which according to investigations would be part of a criminal organization that acted against bank customers. Investigations began in February last year, when police from the Civil Police Station in Cordeiro arrested three individuals for criminal practice.

Other alleged members of the group were later identified, becoming targets of the court orders being served today.

“After the arrival of the procedures at the PF, the Federal Police Station in Macaé carried out new steps and found that there were other investigations into similar facts and were actually committed by a criminal organization,” the Federal Police explained in a statement.

According to the PF, all the material seized today will be sent to criminal technical expertise.
