Remove these plants from the garden before the season begins. They attract ticks

In the past, ticks could only be found in the forest, but for several years they are an increasing threat even in their own garden or on a neighborhood lawn. So a map of ticks was created, which shows where the most of these arachnids are. It is worth checking if our area is exposed to a large number of ticks.

We associate ticks mainly with the forest. Currently, however, they can also be found in many other places. They appear both in gardens, in city parks or on lawns in the estate. What’s more, climate change, which includes milder winters, as well as longer vegetative seasons, make the ticks develop and migrate. As a result, these arachnids are active from early spring even to late autumn.

Therefore, we do not have to go to the forest to meet. It is often in various types of dense, moist thickets or on the outskirts of the meadows. Researchers from the University of Warsaw also confirm that Pajęczaki are present in most green areas in large cities.

An interactive map of ticks was created on the website of Ciemprodawyna.pl. It is built on the basis of data collected from users and is still updated on a regular basis. Thanks to this, you can see points where the greatest activity of ticks was reported, taking into account the real margin of an error up to 100 meters.

According to the map, the most applications appeared in the voivodships – Mazowieckie, Śląskie, Lesser Poland and Łódź. Especially a lot was recorded in the vicinity of Warsaw, where users reported over 1000 locations. A large number of ticks were also reported in Warmia and Mazury and in Pomerania. Many cases were recorded in places such as Ostrowice, Twardogóra and Nowa Karczma.

It is worth knowing that a tick bite is usually painless. However, it can be very serious, because these arachnids most often carry Lyme disease and tick -borne encephalitis. They can also be carriers of babesiosis, tularemia or bartonellosis.

Bite symptoms may only appear after a few days or even weeks. Therefore, it is worth observing your skin regularly. If erythema appears, consult a doctor immediately. Disturbing symptoms also include fever, fatigue and muscle pain.

To avoid this threat, it is worth acting preventive. Before we leave the house to the forest, park or meadow, let’s dress bright and concealing dressedE, which will make it easier to notice a tick wandering around our body. In addition, we use protective measures, which are available e.g. in the form of a spray or as a cream.
