There is no right age or time to live a great love. The story of the couple Antonio Carlos Calegário and Célia Ferreira, 61 and 70, respectively, is the most beautiful proof of this. In honor of Valentine’s Day, celebrated this Wednesday (12), the ContilNet He talked to the two, who live a story marked by companionship, affection and restarts.
After long relationships and a life dedicated to children, Antonio and Celia decided to open their hearts to love again. It all started in a simple and charming way: at a party in August 2017, the merchant had the courage to invite the doctor to dance. They were surrounded by common friends when they were presented.

“We danced. He showed interest, but honestly, I wasn’t very interested in the beginning,” says Celia, laughing. “It was he who insisted. Over time, we got to know each other better. I met his family, I met him slowly.”
Antonio remembers the moment with love: “We were at a party, and I invited her to dance. She dances very well, and I love to dance. From there, we started talking and approaching.”
At the time, Celia had already been married, and Antonio had recently lost his wife. “He was widowed, had just lost his wife and was still very sensitized,” she recalls.
But it was precisely the sensitivity and care of Antonio who conquered it.
“She is a beautiful woman, polite, very dear to my friends … danced well and had a natural charm that caught my attention. At first, I didn’t think of dating anyone, I was in mourning. But things happened naturally. The way she treated me, kindly, and the way I treated her too … All that we approached,” said the trader, thrilled.
Celia was enchanted by the partner’s attention and dedication, especially in relation to the family. “He talked a lot about his wife, with respect and affection. This was important, because he never tried to erase the previous story – on the contrary, he showed how much he was in love with her. This showed sensitivity and integrity.”

Both guarantee that they have never suffered prejudice for living this love in maturity. On the contrary, they were always supported by friends and family.
“I have never given so much importance to this kind of judgment,” said Celia firmly. “I always had the support of people close.”
Antonio completes: “My family has always respected my decisions. My friends too. I never let myself be shaken by criticism. I have my convictions and follow what I believe.”
When asked what Antonio represents in his life, Celia responds tenderly:
“In addition to boyfriend, he’s a friend, an accomplice, a confidant. It’s my safe haven. A person I trust.”

The reciprocal is more than true:
“Celia is my mate. An exceptional person. Hear me, advise me, support me. It’s wonderful, especially at this stage of life, having someone to share the good times. I don’t like the idea of being alone. And having someone like her next to me is a gift.”
Together for eight years, the couple believes that the secret to maintaining a lasting relationship is in simple but deep attitudes.
“I learned that when you choose to be with someone, it’s not just to be happy, but to make the other happy. When the two are willing to donate, the relationship blooms. It’s investing in the other with the best,” explains Celia.
Antonio agrees:
“It’s a set: complicity, love, patience, understanding. There has to be true friendship, respect and honesty. There is no unique formula – it’s the whole that sustains.”
