Safety and identity validation have become more strategic for financial institutions while competitive advantages involving these topics is clearer, the UNICO head in Brazil, Guilherme Ribenboim in panel of.

A survey by the company in partnership with MIT Technology Review Brazil shows that 90% of companies are part of digital identity with product experience. “We closed 2024 with about 600 million identity validation consultations at Unico. We are projecting to close this year with 3x this number,” says Ribenboim.
Its assessment is that it is becoming a fundamental asset for confidence generation. “Banks, retailers, fintechs and betting houses are increasingly using validation to authorize account opening, transactional procedure for the customer,” he says.
Although it becomes more relevant, authentication has an adverse effect on banks: according to the survey, 88% of them are looking for an alternative of authentication without friction.

An alternative already known in the market is the so -called adaptive authentication, technology that uses user contextual information to release the use of services, such as location and even behaviors related to click speed or way to hold the mobile phone. Research data show that 67% of companies already use adaptive authentication.
