The minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Márcio Macedo, raised the tone against the governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (PL), during an event with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), on Thursday (12), in Minas Gerais.
In a speech, Macedo called the governor “liar” and “ungrateful” and said he should “wash his mouth with Qboa” before talking about Lula.
“When he goes to talk a lie about President Lula’s government, he has to wash his mouth with bleach and retire to his insignificance. The people of Minas know what we are doing,” Macedo said, being cheered with “out, zema” screams of the audience.

The minister stated that he hesitated to mention the governor, but decided to comment for indignation at Zema’s public statements against the federal government. According to Macedo, ingratitude and lies “are not defects of God.”
The criticism occurred after Zema published a video with criticism of the Federal Government’s performance in Minas Gerais.
The Minas Gerais Governor and President Lula have been fighting a political dispute that involves tax and electoral topics. The clash should intensify with the proximity of the 2026 municipal elections, on which both sides will try to expand their foundations in the state.
