Kuny can become your worst nightmare and the fight against them is often uneven. The loss of cables from the car, carcasses and droppings are just some of the most common features of the mess they leave behind. Fortunately, my grandfather found an antidote on uninvited guests. This solution is a baby toy and works flawlessly.

Kuna rocky versus Kuna Lesná. Which is a bigger problem?

While Kuna Lesná lives mainly in the woods and keeps from people aside, Kuna rocky (obsolete: Kuna home) It has other habits. It is settled in the attic, cellars, sheds or under the hoods of cars, where it is looking for warmth and safety for the education of chicks. It reaches a length of up to 50 cm (without a tail), can jump to a height of three meters and feeds on birds, eggs, but also fruit. Although it can look cute, it is actually a pest that can cause problems.

How to drive off marten? Grandpa invented a “Terminator”

The common method for scare kuna is to hang the toilet block under the hood of the car. However, this method can also be harmful to people. My grandfather therefore came up with an alternative, which is effective, cheap and safe.

  • A few drops of essential oil (eg mint, lavender or eucalyptus) just drip on a piece of felt or cloth and lay it where the marten appears – in the attic, garage or under the hood. The strong aroma of the marten repels, so they will not return there anymore.

Alternatively, it is also recommended to deploy a dog’s hair or cat, which Kuna feels as a danger and place he prefers to bypass.

It is interesting that Kuny often appears in chickens, but paradoxically do not tolerate the smell of eggs – some even break them around the land to prevent their return.

Attention, Kuna is a protected kind

Although marten can make life really unpleasant, It should not be forgotten that this is a protected animal species. Therefore, they must not be wounded or killed. The goal is just to scare them, not to hurt them. Thanks to the grandfather’s simple method, you can keep them far without breaking the law or hurting them.
