The session was marked by (PL-MG), which left the plenary before the minister’s answers completed. Haddad accused them of “molecage” for abandoning the debate.

“This kind of attitude of someone who wants to appear on the network seriously and runs whenever the serious clash will happen […] It’s not good for democracy, ”said the minister.

PL leader calls Haddad “donkey” after clash with Nikolas and Jordy in the Chamber

The statement caused Jordy’s return to the plenary, which reacted with attacks: “The kid is you, minister. He was disrespectful to me and Nikolas. He was upset about the truths we brought about the fiscal deficit and tax increase.”

Nikolas, in turn, also had no right to respond. He accused the table of “censorship” and stated that the opposition is retaliated: “They are afraid.”

Pix video and scope on networks

The joke of the clash was a publication made by Nikolas in January about the rules of inspection of Pix, with criticism of the Lula administration. The video accumulates 333 million views on Instagram. Haddad mocked the numbers: “There are no 300 million Portuguese speakers in the world.”

The speech was interpreted by PL parliamentarians as an attempt to discredit the reach of social networks. “Now Haddad can’t add because it’s stupid! Just add all the countries that speak Portuguese in the world,” said Cavalcante Sostenes in the House plenary.

The PL leader also delivered to the Board of Directors 23 documents with, according to him, tax increases promoted by Haddad since the beginning of the Lula administration. “It’s analogical and doesn’t understand the digital world,” concluded the parliamentarian.

Haddad rebates criticism and accuses fake news

Haddad reacted to criticism, saying that parliamentarians reproduce the 2018 strategy of then candidate Jair Bolsonaro: “They ask questions and escape the debate.” The minister also classified the video of Nikolas as fake news driven by Big Techs.

He took the opportunity to assign the 2022 tax surplus to maneuvers of the previous government, such as non -payment of precatory and the granting of billionaire exemptions. “Where were the deputies who now criticize, when these measures were approved?” He asked, forgetting that Nikolas was elected only that year.

The episode ended with shouts of “stroke” directed to Haddad by opposition parliamentarians, while the minister left the plenary escorted by PT allies. The session ended without a new round of questions, in a tension climate.
