Air India flight was intended for the United Kingdom; aircraft fell shortly after takeoff from the city of Ahmedabad
A plane with more than 200 people on board crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad airport in India on Thursday (12.jun.2025). The flight, operated by Air India, was destined for the city of London, the United Kingdom.
There is still no information about victims, according to the news agency Reuters. Authorities said the aircraft fell on a residential area near the airport. Air India confirmed the accident in on your profile at X.
“The AI171 flight, operating from Ahmedabad to Gatwick London, was involved in an incident today, June 12, 2025. At the moment, we are still investigating the details”Said the airline.
According to Reutersthe aircraft fell moments after taking off. Local television channels recorded a strong smoke at the accident site and reported victims being removed in ambulances.
