CNN Nick Paton Walsh states that Israel’s accurate attacks may have severely degrade military leadership and Iran’s air defenses, making them weakened, uncertain and potentially unable to set up a quick response
Israel launched unprecedented attacks on Iran, aiming at its nuclear program and military leaders, in an attack that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it will last several days.
Israel’s Armed Forces said they used 200 fighters. In retaliation, Iran launched more than 100 drones towards Israeli territory, according to the armed forces of Israel.
Nick Paton Walsh, CNN’s corresponding chief of security, states that “a strong response from Iran is by no means acquired data.”
“Remember that in October they suffered significant damage to their air defenses due to another Israeli attack. And this morning they wake up with the news of the death of important military leaders, possibly to evaluate broader damage, to see accurate attacks throughout the capital, and potentially even retracting to contact or gather to plan an answer,” says the expert.
Iran can, in fact. “Having suffered even greater degradation in its military capabilities due to this substantial Israelite attack,” he says. And “this certainly limits your options, and I think this is another time when Israel demonstrates that it is ultimately the military power and of good information in the region.”
“It is evident that this operation has been planned for months, it is very accurate,” he adds.
“We’ll know more about the damage that may have caused Iran’s nuclear ambition, but it seems obvious that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu preferred to attack instead of risking that such an operation was harmed if diplomacy gained strength during the weekend in the negotiations between the United States and Iran.”
This “is a moment of danger,” says Nick Paton Walsh. Will I will try now to accelerate the development of a nuclear weapon? “This is a very difficult task even in the best circumstances, and potentially even more difficult if the Israelite Air Force is looking for opportune targets in the coming days. But Iran is weakened, desperately need to show strength, certainly, but now probably with chaos and its senior leadership in real uncertainty as exactly its next effective step.”
