China calls for peace in the Middle East and condemns the violation of Iranian sovereignty.
China pays great attention to Israeli attacks on Iran and calls on all parties to prevent further escalation of tensions and take steps in order to peace and stability in the region. This was stated on Friday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing, TASR reports according to Reuters and AFP.
China is deeply concerned about the serious consequences that the Israeli operation could provoke, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Lin Jien at a press briefing. According to him, Beijing condemns “Iran’s sovereignty, safety and territorial integrity”.
Call for peace
“We are against the escalation of tension and the expansion of conflicts,” the spokesman said, saying that sudden escalation in the Middle East region does not serve any interest in anyone. “The Chinese side is willing to play a constructive role in alleviating the situation,” Lin added.
China has close relations with Iran for whom the largest business partner and the main buyer is his oil at a time when Tehran is still exposed to US sanctions.
