Hossein Salami was one of the most influential figures within the Iran’s Armed Forces, and his death can cause a conflict intensification between the two countries.
Created after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the revolutionary guard is the most powerful force of the Iranian Armed Forces. Currently, in addition to protecting government leaders, she works to control protests and other internal security activities.
Iran also confirmed the death of two nuclear sector scientists: Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi.
For Uriã Fancelli, master in international relations from the universities of Strasbourg and Groningen, the Israeli attack can be considered extremely serious by the Iranian government. In a statement to the G1, he states that autocratic regimes such as Iran’s tend to react with demonstrations of strength in the face of external aggressions.
Fancelli also points out that the main concern at the moment is the risk of Iran to interpret the attack as a stimulus to intensify its nuclear program. According to him, the country maintains technical knowledge and distributed infrastructure in various regions.
