The defense of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, a former Jair Bolsonaro and whistleblower orders in the case of the coup attempted, asked on Thursday to the Supreme Court (STF) the opening of an investigation into the Instagram profile @gabrielar702pointed out as supposedly linked to ICD.
The request was made to state that the military would have used the profile to communicate with allies of the former president and criticize the conduct of investigations. The profile was first quoted by Bolsonaro’s lawyer Celso Vilardi during ICD interrogation at the STF. At the time, Cid denied any bond with the account.
Report suggests use of account to criticize Moraes and PF
According to the magazine, between January and March 2024, the profile would have been used by CID to exchange messages with people from the Bolsonarist circle, which showed dissatisfaction with the inquiry and Minister Alexandre de Moraes. In one of the messages, the user states that “it does not need proof, just narrative” and that “the prison order of the PR is ready.”

In another passage, the profile reports stages of the award -winning denunciation, claiming that Federal Police investigators tried to induce the employee to specific statements: “Several times they wanted to put words in my mouth … It was three days in a row. One of them was that great testimony about the jewelry. I think there were five annexes.”
Messages also contain criticism of the Supreme Court and predict that only a possible victory for Donald Trump could reverse the legal situation of the investigated.
Defense claims “almost illiterate” language and says profile is false
In the request filed with the Supreme Court, Cid’s lawyers say the dialogues are untrue and treat content as “another miserable fake news.” They also claim that the texts conveyed by Look They contain “crash errors of verbal agreement” and a “rude, almost illiterate” style, which does not match the language used by CID in the case file.

“A lay reading is enough to realize that the expressions used by those who wrote are not by Mauro Cid,” the lawyers wrote.
The defense also states that the way the profile refers to the armed forces generals would be incompatible with the military’s culture and conduct, reinforcing the thesis that the content was forged.
Contradictions in audience and possible risk to the denunciation
During the STF interrogation, Celso Vilardi questioned directly on the profile. The military replied that he had not used any Instagram that was not in his name. When confronted with the name of the profile, Cid hesitated, “I don’t know if it’s my wife, but Gabriela is her name.”

The alleged use of the profile could violate the terms of the award-winning denunciation signed with the Attorney General’s Office. Under the agreement, the whistleblower commits to tell the truth and maintain confidentiality about the information provided. Failure to comply with these conditions may lead to the annulment of criminal benefits granted.
