Last week, the deputy traveled to Italy avoiding serving the sentence, and the minister determined that the defense be exercised by the Union Public Defender’s Office
The Minister, of the Federal Supreme Court (), denied on Friday (13) an appeal from the Federal Public Defender’s Office (DPU) against the immediate execution of the conviction of the deputy (PL-SP) to ten years in prison for the invasion of the electronic system of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), in 2023. Last week, Zambelli traveled to Italy avoiding the sentence, and the defense was exercised by DPU. In the appeal, the Ombudsman claimed that the conviction could not have been executed after the decision of the first class of the Court, which denied the last appeal of the parliamentarian against the conviction. According to the agency, there were still other resources pending analysis. In analyzing the case, the minister upheld the decision of the collegiate who ordered the deputy.
“There is no contradiction pointed out, as, as expressly stated in the vote, sought the embargo Carla Zambelli, as well as presenting mere nonconformity with the solution adopted by the judging class,” said the minister. Hacker Walter Delgatti was also sentenced to eight years and three months in prison in the same process. According to investigations, the electronic invasion was performed by Delgatti and occurred at the behest of Zambelli. On Wednesday (11), Alexandre de Moraes sent to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security the request for extradition of the deputy. It will be up to the federal executive to make the request to the Italian government.
