It arrested it on Friday (13) (PL), former Minister of Tourism of the government of Jair Bolsonaro. The arrest occurred in Recife. In the same operation, Lieutenant Colonel, a former Bolsonaro orders, was the target of search in Brasilia, according to his lawyers.
“The arrest was revoked. I’m on the side of CID,” said Mauro Cid’s lawyer Cezar Bitencourt this morning.
This week, the (Attorney General’s Office) had authorized a request from the PF to investigate Machado, in a play sent on Tuesday (10) to (Supreme Federal Court).
The suspicion of this case is that Machado acted with the consulate of Portugal in Recife last month to obtain the dispatch of a Portuguese passport, according to suspicions of the PF.
The purpose, according to the play signed by Attorney General Paulo Gonet, with information from the police, would be possible to leave the military from the national riter. The former minister, however, would not have succeeded in issuing the document.
Wanted earlier this week, Machado denied “he vehemently went to any consulate.” He added that he only maintained telephone contact in May with the Portuguese consulate to request a schedule to renew his father’s passport, “which was made after said request.”
Gilson Machado is known as the “accordionist” of the former modeler, participated in the politician’s lives and was president of Embratur. In 2022, he tried the position of senator by Pernambuco, but was not elected. He also competed for mayor of Recife in 2024 and lost.
He says Bolsonaro is his political mentor, whom he claims to be faithful. On social networks, it also defines itself as a conservative veterinarian and Christian.
