1971 – Juliane Koepcke, the only survivor of accident in Peru with 91 dead

Germano-Peruvian Juliane Koepcke was 17 when she boarded her mother on Peruvian airline Lansa’s flight 508 on December 24, 1971, in Peru. The plane, a Lockheed Electra, was hit by lightning during a storm over the Amazon rainforest and shattered in the air.

“It all happened a lot, very quickly. The plane jumped and it started to crash. And I still remember people screaming desperately. 1973 – Ricardo Trajano, the only surviving passenger of accident in France with 123 dead

Brazilian Ricardo Trajano was the only passenger who survived the accident on the outskirts of Paris on July 11, 1973. Varig’s Boeing 707, which took off from Rio de Janeiro to London, had a fire, which began in one of the back bathrooms during the descent to Paris, where he would scale.

She was the only survivor.

The girl underwent four skin graft surgeries to treat severe burns on her arms and legs. She also suffered a skull fracture and had collarbone and fractured leg in the accident.

Cichan was found under rubble, and many believe she was protected by her mother during the fall. The rescue caused a commotion around the world, but it maintained discretion throughout life and only spoke publicly about the accident, for the first time in 2012. “I think of the accident every day. It’s hard not to think when I look in the mirror. I have visible scars,” he said at the time.

2009 – Bahia Bakari, the only survivor of accident at Indian with 152 dead

Nicknamed “The Miraculous Girl,” the Frenchman Bahia Bakari was 12 when she became the only survivor of Flight Yemenia 626, which fell in the Indian Ocean on June 30, 2009, near the Lares islands. The Airbus A310 came from Sana, Yemen, heading for the Matonian capital, Moroni, when she suffered a failure while approaching the airport and fell into the sea with 153 people on board.

Bakari, who could not swim and was without life jacket, was thrown out of the aircraft and managed to cling to the wreckage of the plane. She was drifting for about 13 hours in the busy, wounded sea, until she was spotted by a rescue boat. He was taken to the hospital with multiple bruises, burns, fractures and face injuries. His mother died in the accident.

In 2010, Bahia released a book with memories called “Moi Bahia, La Miraculée” (“I’m Bahia, The Miracrosa”, in free translation) with the co -authorship of a journalist.

2011 – Alexandr Sizov, the only survivor of accident in Russia with 44 dead

Alexandr Sizov was the only survivor of the plane crash that killed almost the entire Russian Lokomotiv Yaroslavl ice hockey team on 7 September 2011. The plane, a Yakovlev Yak-42, fell shortly after taking off from Yaroslavl airport, on his way to Belarus, where the team would play a hosting hockey league match. Of the 45 people on board, including players, technicians and crew, 44 died.
