Arsenal received a “no” from Sporting Lisboa for the services of Vitor Gyokeres, scorer of Europe last season.
The English club offered 55 million euros (about $ 350 million), according to the newspaper Ballfrom Portugal.
The values are not far from what Sporting wants: 60 million euros fixed and 10 million more in variables. It will be up to Arsenal now to stretch the rope to try a happy ending in the negotiation.
Gyokeres lives the height of his career in Portugal, having scored 39 goals in 33 matches in season 2024/25. Even though he was the top scorer in numbers, he didn’t get the European Golden Boot, a prize won by Mbappé, Real Madrid.
In all, the striker scored 97 goals and distributed 27 assists in 102 games with Sporting’s shirt. He also went through Coventry City, Brighton, Swansea and St Pauli.
