Maae Rafael Grossi, CEO, informed Israeli President Jicchak Herzog on Friday that The nuclear facility in Nananz suffered “serious damage” during extensive Israeli attacks, The President’s spokesman said. TASR writes about this, according to the DPA report.
Israel targeted its attacks on over 100 areas in Iran and used about 200 fighters, The spokesman of the Israeli army said. The main goal was nuclear infrastructure and high -ranking commanders and scientists. Iranian nuclear authorities have made it clear that The Nananz race has not resulted in any nuclear contamination or leakage of substances. The International Atomic Energy Agency (MAAE) has confirmed that there was no increase in radiation in this location.
The CEO in a statement at the meeting of the Governors of the MAAE stated that The second uranium enrichment facility in Iran – Fordow was not affected and there was no intervention of other nuclear enterprises in Isfahane. He referred to the Iranian authorities and pointed out that he was willing to travel to the country to evaluate the situation.
“I call on all parties to maintain maximum restraint and prevent further escalation. I re -emphasize that any military steps, threatening the safety of nuclear facilities, will have serious consequences for the inhabitants of Iran, the region, but also outside it,” stated Grossi in a statement.
“I have indicated the competent authorities that I am ready to travel as soon as possible to assess the situation and ensure safety, protection and (compliance with the non -spreading contract of nuclear weapons) in Iran,” said.
Grossi did not approach the extent of damage in Nananza and did not specify which parts of the device suffered damage. The complex consists of a large underground plant for enriching uranium and a smaller above -ground part. Iran in the plant enriches Uranus at 60 percent, but produces it only in smaller quantities. 90 % enrichment is required to produce a nuclear weapon.
Fordow, which is located deep below the ground, produces more material and, according to military experts, it would be difficult for Israel to destroy it by bombing. “Despite current military operations and increased tensions, it is clear that the only sustainable way forward – for Iran, Israel, the whole region and the international community – is a journey based on dialogue and diplomacy to ensure peace, stability and cooperation,” Dodal Grossi.
