Senator Dr. Hiran (PP-RR), chairman of the newly encerado, accused the committee rapporteur, Soraya Thronicke (Somos-MS), of trying to use the investigation to promote.
The commission accused entrepreneurs and manipulation influencers. Behind the scenes, the rapporteur would have accused the president of acting to sabotage the work and protect the investigated.
Hiran stated that “regrets” the rapporteur’s accusations, made without evidence. “The senator has always led the commission with responsibility, institutional respect and commitment to the facts. Senator’s accusations are unfounded and try to transform legitimate divergences into personal attacks, which compromises the credibility of and divert the focus of the true purpose of the CPI,” says the senator.
According to him, the rejection of the report was a collective decision of the commission, “made based on the legal fragility of some claims for indictment.”
“It was evident that there was an attempt to instrumentalize the CPI for personal and media purposes by the rapporteur.”
He mentioned the armed protection rapporteur’s request after threats he would have suffered. “If there were threats to the senator’s integrity, to formally submit the complaint and strictly determined by the competent authorities.”
Hiran added that this issue cannot be used to “propagate irresponsible innuendos against other parliamentarians.”
