Datafolha: For 67%, Bolsonaro should leave candidacy – 14/06/2025 – Power

In the midst of the judicial siege that () faces, there are 67% those who say that the former president, ineligible until 2030, should give up a presidential candidacy in 2026, according to Datafolha survey.

On the other hand, 29% say Bolsonaro should keep the campaign for the Planalto Palace the following year, and 4% say they don’t know or did not answer the question.

He listened to 2,004 voters in person 16 or over 136 Brazilian cities between Tuesday (10) and Wednesday (11). The margin of error is two percentage points for more or less.

The former Mandanker continues to insist on an application even being ineligible until 2030 due to convictions in the (Superior Electoral Court) for abuse of political power and misuse of the media.

The decisions of the Electoral Court deal with a meeting with ambassadors in which Bolsonaro has long dismissed statements about the safety of the electronic ballot box and the political use of the 2022 parade.

Outside the electoral field, Bolsonaro is a defendant in the coup plot to prevent the inauguration of () in 2022, and, if convicted, could be out of the polls for even longer: he would be prevented from competing for public office for the time that lasts eight years after the sentence.

Even so, the former president can use the same strategy that Lula himself used in 2018, when he was arrested by judgment of the triplex action in. The petista filed a candidacy in, which was denied based on the Clean Record Law.

Faced with the negative, he passed the head of plate A (PT) and, under the slogan “Haddad is Lula”, transferred votes to the now Minister of Finance, even late.

Bolsonaro also did not give evidence of who will support, if he follows ineligible. Nor other quotes, such as (), speak openly to try the head of the federal executive next year. For now, the tactic is to reaffirm the former president as a natural postulant.

Among the groups that most support a candidacy of the retired army captain are those in the range of between five and ten (42%), (40%) and southern residents (37%). Already among the most reject a Bolsonaro candidacy are the least educated and the northeastern (73%each), the poorest (72%), the and youngest (both with 70%).
