David Beckham is decorated as Knight by King Charles III and becomes Sir Beckham

The former soccer player was appointed knight for and is officially called Sir David Beckham, according to honors list released on Friday (13). The former athlete’s wife, Victoria Beckham, stylist and former member of Spice Girls, was also awarded and is recognized as Lady Victoria. The 50 -year -old English idol received the title in recognition of his contribution to the sport and his philanthropic work.

Former English captain and cultural icon in the United Kingdom, he has been operating for years as an ambassador to UNICEF and campaigns to combat malaria. In 2024, he was appointed ambassador to King’s Foundationcharity organization presided by King Charles III. “I could never imagine that it would receive such an honor,” said Beckham, remembering his humble origin in the east of London and the patriotism of his family.

The traditional British monarchy award list-published twice a year, New Year and the Sovereign’s official anniversary-honors figures that stood out in different areas. In this edition, the Oscar winner, playing Winston Churchill in the cinema, and singer Roger Daltrey, singer of The WHO, recognized for his performance in music and support for the support, were also appointed. Teenage Cancer Trustinstitution focused on the treatment of adolescents with cancer. “It’s a little weird, but I am proud to receive this award, especially for working with Teenage Cancer Trust,” said Daltrey.

In all, more than 1,200 people were honored on the new list. Among them is 18 -year -old Luke Littler, the youngest worldwide champion of history, appointed member of the British Empire Order (MBE) – the same honor received by David and Victoria Beckham in the past. In addition to celebrities, the list also includes civilians who work in social causes, such as activists who fight white weapons violence in the UK.
