Évora welcomes another edition of the Marions International Biennial

There were more than 90 performances that filled the city streets, in a festival that is already a world reference.

At the sound of the bombs and accompanied by giant figures, the streets of Évora welcomed another edition of the Marions International Biennial. The parade marked the start of another week dedicated to this art. It is already one of the most anticipated events in the city.

They were six days when the Alentejo city became an open -air stage. Received more than 90 shows, from 28 companies who came a little from all over the world. And the dolls always have the magic of attracting people.

The great attraction of the opening parade was the giant puppet. A cork -made structure, manually operated by a team of artists, who left the street for the first time.

With giant puppets, some much smaller… some traditional, some more modern .. The shows are always diverse and for all tastes.

The International Biennial of Puppets of Évora returns with many news in 2027, the year the city will be European capital of culture.
