At least 15 of the victims were hit as they tried to approach a humanitarian aid distribution center
An air strike from Israel caused a fire that left 35 dead in the Gaza Strip on Saturday (14.Jun.2025). Part of the victims was close to a humanitarian aid distribution center operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an organization supported by the United States.
According to Reutersat least 15 people died while trying to approach the distribution center. The others were hit in other areas of the enclave. The information was confirmed by doctors from local hospitals where the bodies were taken.
The Humanitarian Gaza Foundation operated in the territory at the end of May. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas, at least 274 people have died and more than 2,000 have been injured in attacks near support centers since the entity’s operations began.
Israel accuses the extremist group of stealing products for the civilian population. Hamas denies and states that Israeli forces “They use hunger as a weapon of war” e “They turn humanitarian aid centers into traps for the civilian massacre”.
Israel has restricted the entry of supplies into Gaza. On May 18, the limited entry of groceries after a block of almost 3 months. On the same day, however, it announced the intensification of land operations in the territory.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said partial release sought to avoid a “Hunger crisis”. According to him, the objective was to contain the aggravation of the humanitarian situation and to ensure the continuity of Israeli military actions in the region.
