The governor’s wife, Luana Rocha, published on social networks a video sent by him at the time she sought protection. In the caption, she reported the moment of tension: “Guys, look at the suffocation that my husband went through the team on an official mission in Israel. Thank God everything is under control. They have gone through several bunkers and are safe.”
Marcos Rocha is in Israel along with an entourage to address topics such as public safety and seek technological innovations for Rondônia. However, the mission was surprised by the aggravation of the conflict, after Israel attacks Iranian nuclear facilities on Thursday (12). Iran classified the action as a statement of war, which triggered a series of retaliation.
The country’s airspace remains closed and, according to Luana, there is no forecast of release for the group to return to Brazil. “We are in prayer for him and the whole delegation to come back safely, with health and life. May this war end as soon as possible, without loss of lives, and peace prevails among the peoples,” he wrote.
The governor also spoke on social networks and said that he had to seek shelter with the team after the alarms fired. The episode took place at dawn, local time, and required everyone to move quickly to the bunkers nominated by the Israeli authorities.
The scenario remains unstable in the region, at risk of new attacks, and maintains the international alert on the risk of aggravation of the conflict between Israel and Iran.
