SAO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS)-Iran launched a counterattack with about 100 ballistic missiles on Friday night (13) in retaliation for the Operation of the Jewish state to destroy its nuclear program, disable its armed forces and kill the country’s military leadership.

“Israel began a war,” said the supreme leader of theocracy, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. There were explosions in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and other places, such as the north of the country, after the general warning decreed at 9:11 pm (15h11 in Brasilia). Just over an hour later, the sirens silenced.

Earlier, the Iranians had fired a savings of one hundred drones, which did not hit Israel, being overthrown before arriving in the country. It was a kind of appetizer of the night attack, leaving to know its real scope.

At first glance, it was a lower attack than held on October 1, when Tehran directly lighted the Jewish state for the second time in 46 years of rivalry. There, there were 200 ballistic missiles.

This time, however, Iran has lighted urban centers, such as Tel Aviv, not just military bases. At least 40 people were injured, a light low account compared to action that gave rise to the counterattack, which began at dawn on Friday, when at least 78 people died in Tehran only.

The operation, which killed part of the Iranian military summit and hit the country’s nuclear program, followed during the day and night. Its declared goal is to prevent Iran from obtaining the atomic bomb, a weapon from which Israel has 90 warheads, after the new impasse between Washington and Tehran negotiations to change nuclear resignation at the end of sanctions.

Israel maintained its attacks, focusing precisely to degrading the force of earthly ballistic missiles and expanding the action against nuclear facilities. The problem is that analysts estimate at 2,000 the number of Iran’s type weapons, which would not be nullified in just one day of bombing.

Still, the Iranians claim to have targeted “dozens of targets”, including military facilities and air bases. Initially, they spoke of “hundreds of missiles” in an apparent exaggeration. There was a concern, of course, that the regime shows strength after being hard attacked.

Iran lives one of its moments of greater weakness as an Islamic Republic, due to the degradation of its first line of defense through agents, due to the terrorist attack of one of them, Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, Israel on October 7, 2023.

This has added to the economic crisis, to social fasteners with repression. Netanyahu sought to explore this in a TV speech. “We are in the midst of one of the greatest military operations in history,” he said, saying he was destroyed “much of his ballistic missal arsenal, uranium enrichment abilities and the military commanders” of theocracy.

As had done in the past, the prime minister urged the Iranian population to overthrow the theocratic regime, something rhetorical. Unlike the current stage of his war with Hamas, which obliterated the Gaza Strip, he even received support from critical leaders such as Emmanuel Macron, the French President.

The United States, on the other hand, maintained the position of supporting Israel, denying having participated in the service on its behalf, given the failure to revive a nuclear agreement -the previous 2015, had been abandoned by Donald Trump in 2018.

Still, according to the American Axios website, American destroyers in the Red Sea helped overthrow part of the missiles, as had happened before. The Tehran drone dam, which preceded the ballistic attack, was also fought by forces of neighboring Jordan, who claimed violation of his airspace.

According to the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces), there were at least two large waves of Iran’s missiles. The country’s three anti -meat defense systems came into action, particularly the famous low -altitude iron dome.

Iranian media also stated that the country’s air defenses overthrew two Israeli fighters, with at least one pilot being arrested, which will actually occur if it actually occurred. There is no confirmation of either IDF or independent monitors yet.

Netanyahu had said before he predicted successive and violent waves of Israeli reaction. Despite Khamenei’s rhetoric, there is not yet a formal statement of war between countries, although in practice it is in full course now.

The expectation in Israel is that there are new exchanges of fire in the coming days, depending on Iranian capabilities. Operation lion on the rise, which takes its name from the biblical symbolism of the state of Israel, the way it is drawn, aims to go to the end to leave Tehran on its knees, it remains clear whether there will be military and political conditions for it.
