Iran has announced that negotiations with the United States about the Iranian nuclear program will be suspended until Israel contains its attacks on the country and held Washington responsible for supporting the offensive. Iran and USA had a meeting scheduled for Sunday in Oman.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister ABBAS ARAGHCHI said that the continuity of nuclear conversations with the US would be “unjustifiable” in the face of Israel’s ongoing military offensive against the Islamic Republic, according to a government statement.
-It is evident that, in such circumstances and until the aggression of the Zionist regime against the Iranian nation cease, it will be meaningless to participate in a dialogue with the part that is the greatest supporter and accomplice of the aggressor-reinforced the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Iranian, Esmail Baghaei, in a press conference in Tehran.

Even after the bombing, which eliminated part of Tehran’s military leadership, US President Donald Trump’s government was still publicly tried to force Iran to sit at the table on Sunday. On Friday, however, Araghi said he was “on the diplomatic path, conducting consultations with Oman’s colleagues about participation in a new round of negotiations with US representatives,” but that “the aggression of the” Zionist regime “forced them to” abandon the diplomatic path. “
Announced with a certain pomp by Trump, conversations between the US and Iran were intended to sign a new agreement that impose limits on Iranian nuclear activities, involved in accusations of having civil and military purposes, which Tehran denies.
The previous agreement, signed in 2015 by a group of countries, including the United States, established levels reduced to the degree of uranium enrichment – essential for the creation of nuclear weapons – and for the storage of enriched material. In return, some of the sanctions imposed on Iranians would be suspended. However, Trump abandoned the agreement unilaterally in 2018 and imposed a harsh policy of sanctions, in force to date.

In the current round of negotiations, the US maintained the base of the 2015 agreement, but required broader Iranian commitments – recently, the Trump government said it no longer wanted any kind of enrichment activity on Iranian soil, an idea from Israeli Premier, Benjamin Netanyahu, and a more timid withdrawal from sanctions, which is equivalent to capitulation.
In recent days, at least in public, Trump was a certain fear that an Israeli attack affects conversations, but even after the bombs fell pressed Tehran to accept the terms – while classified Israel’s acts against Iran as “excellent.”
“Two months ago, I gave Iran a 60 -day ultimatum to” close an agreement, “the president wrote on his social network, Truth Social, referring to an April ultimatum to press Tehran. “They should have done it! Today (Friday) is day 61. I told them what to do, but they just didn’t get it. Now, maybe, have a second chance!”
