Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow and Isfahan were not very damaged in an attack by Israel on Friday, said the spokesman for Iran’s atomic energy organization.
The equipment in both facilities were moved in anticipation of the attacks, said Behrouz Kamalvandi.
A shed at Isfahan unit caught fire, said Kamalvandi, without clarifying the extent of damage at the Fordow site.
There is no risk of contamination, he added.
The Fasin Fuel enrichment plant is buried in the mountains near Qom, northern Iran, and houses advanced centrifuges used to enrich uranium to high degrees of purity.
On Friday, Kamalvandi minimized the extent of damage caused to Iran’s main nuclear enrichment plant in Natanz, saying that the installation “did not suffer serious damage.”
However, the head of the United Nations Nuclear Surveillance agency said during a UN Security Council meeting on Friday that the area above the installation was destroyed.
