Disaster Prevention System will send a test message to residents of 36 municipalities in the Northeast Region this Saturday (14.jun)
The President (PT) participates this Saturday (14.Jun.2025), in Brasilia, in the activation of the new Alert Civil Defense System.
The event will be held at Cenad (National Center for Risk and Disaster Management) and will be attended by the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, the Minister of Communications, Frederico de Siqueira Filho, and the president of Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency), Carlos Baigorri.

The Alert Civil Defense System will send an emergency message to cell phones of residents of 36 municipalities in the Northeast. According to the federal government, the action marks a new stage of the strategy to strengthen disaster prevention and save lives. At the same time, National Civil Defense technicians will be in the 9 capitals of the region to accompany the system demonstration.
The demonstration of the submission of the alerts is coordinated by the Ministry of Regional Integration and Development and will be held in 36 cities in all states of the Northeast, with one minute interval between each alert. The initiative prepares the population for the beginning of the system’s official operation in the region, which is scheduled for June 18.
The message will be overlapping the content displayed on the phone, with alert sound that plays even on silent devices. The warning will reach all compatible devices located in the coverage area, without prior registration.
The message that will appear during the test will be “Extreme Alert – Civil Defense: Demonstration alert of the new emergency alert system in the state. For more information, consult the Civil Defense website Alert”.
During the simulation, the National Civil Defense technicians will be on the field, with state civil defenses, monitoring the receipt of messages and supporting the use of the new technology. After training, the warning of the alerts will be direct responsibility for local agencies.
The system is part of a nationalization effort that has already reached the South and Southeast-Operation since December 2024-and will be taken to the North and Midwest regions in the coming months. By the end of 2025, the Civil Defense is expected to be available throughout the country.
Here are the municipalities that will participate in the simulation this Saturday:
- Alagoas: Maceió, Marshal Deodoro, Pilar and São Luís do Quitunde;
- Bahia: Salvador, Ilhéus, Vitória da Conquista and Santa Cruz Cabrália;
- Ceará: Fortaleza, Aquiraz, Caucaia and Uruburetama;
- Maranhão: São Luís, Paço Lumiar, Trizidela do Vale and Empress;
- Paraíba: João Pessoa, Alagoa Nova, Itatuba and Coremas;
- Pernambuco: Recife, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Caruaru and Ipojuca;
- Piauí: Teresina, Urucuí, Picos and Esperantina;
- Rio Grande do Norte: Natal, Parnamirim, São Gonçalo do Amarante and Extremoz;
- Sergipe: Aracaju, Barra dos Coqueiros, Estância and Lizard.
