The former Minister of Tourism had the pre-trial detention revoked on Friday night (13) by the minister, (Supreme Federal Court).
Moraes imposed a series of restrictions on Machado, including the ban on maintaining contact with those involved in the coup plot, to be absent from the city where he resides and the country. The minister determined that the former minister’s passport be canceled.
The magistrate assessed that the steps carried out by the Federal Police throughout the day were sufficient and said that the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic), at the custody hearing, spoke up for the replacement of pre-trial detention for less serious precautionary measures.
According to lawyer Célio Avelino, responsible for the defense of Machado, who is former minister of (), he will leave the prison Cotel, in Abreu and Lima, in the metropolitan region of Recife, in the coming hours.
The PF arrested Machado in Recife and operated in Brasilia against Lieutenant Colonel due to the suspicion of an escape plan of the coup plot’s process.
Police officers arrived at the Military House, a former Bolsonaro orders, armed with an arrest warrant, but were informed at the scene that the detention had been revoked by Moraes.
The suspicion is that Machado acted with the consulate of Portugal in Recife last month to obtain the dispatch of a Portuguese passport, according to the PF.

The suspicion about Cid’s attempted attempted PF grew after investigators found that four family members of the military traveled to the US on May 30.
“The information reinforces the criminal hypothesis already outlined by the Attorney General’s Office and highlights the strong possibility that Gilson Machado Guimarães Neto and Mauro César Barbosa Cid are seeking alternatives to enable Mauro Cid’s departure from the country, stealing themselves to the application of the criminal law,” Gonet said as they arrest their arrest.
In speech to journalists when he arrived at IML, Machado denied that he had made some request related to ICD. “I just ordered a passport from my father by phone here at the Recife Consulate,” he said. “I contacted, he went there in the consulate along with my brother.”
