The exchange of hostages between Ukraine and Russia continues. The Ukrainian government has announced the reception of another 1,200 deaths that until now remained in Russian custody, within the framework of the points agreed in the last round of negotiations held in Istanbul (Türkiye). This is the fourth exchange in a week. Some of them had captive since 2022, Zelenski explained on their Telegram channel.
“As part of the Istanbul agreements, a new stage of repatriation measures was carried out. Ukraine received another 1200 bodies that, according to the Russian part, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel,” said the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of war prisoners in their telegram account.
“Police investigators, together with experts from the Ministry of Interior, will carry out all the necessary exams and identify the repatriated bodies,” he added. In total, with this new installment, the country led by Zelenski has already received 3,600 bodies of deathsas the Ukrainian news portal has been able to advance in its estimates.
